Iron Maiden have confirmed that they will be playing a headline show in Athens on Sunday March 11th 2007 as part of a short run of dates in mid March which include Dubai Desert Rock Festival and two more shows soon to be announced on ironmaiden.com.

The venue is the 10,000 capacity Faliro Pavilion Indoor Arena in Athens and tickets for the show will be going on sale on Tuesday 16th January.

Says Bruce Dickinson 'Greece has always given us such great support and we understand that 'A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH' was the number one album for 4 weeks and we will of course be playing some songs from that album . We were sadly unable to arrange a date in the first part of the tour so we are all very pleased to be now able to play in Athens and we expect to bring with us the full staging we have been using so far on this tour . The Greek audiences are amongst the craziest anywhere and we look forward very much to playing the show. And so of course does Eddie'

Κορυφαίο συγκρότημα οι Iron Maiden και ενώ μας έχουν επισκεφθεί πολλές φορές (και έχουμε πάει εξίσου πολλές φορές να τους δούμε ), δεν θα έλεγα όχι σε άλλη μια!
Πάντως όποιος δεν έχει πάει, o Dickinson δίνει ρέστα!

'Αντε ν'αρχίσουμε να ρίχνουμε και κανά τραγούδι εδώ, γιατί στο τέλος θα καταργηθεί αυτή η ενότητα και μάλλον θα ενσωματωθεί στα άναρχα

Κατά την γνώμη μου η μουσική είναι πολυ μεγάλο θέμα και πολύ σημαντικό για να το ενσωματώσουμε σε κάτι άλλο....

Βασικά ασχολούνται κάποιοι στο χώρο με τη μουσική και σε σημαντικό βαθμό και πεταν πολύ όμορφα και ίσως όχι γνωστα στους πολλούς στιχάκια από τραγούδια. Δεν πειράζει αν είναι στα άναρχα, στα πολιτικά ή στα εθνικά. Η μουσική είναι παντού....

Δεν πρόλαβα μόνο τη συναυλία του 88 στη Ν Φιλαδέλφεια, καθότι 13χρονος και στην επαρχία, ήταν πολύ δύσκολα και τότε έκανα τα πρώτα μου βήματα στο χώρο. Έκτοτε ήμουν πάντα εκεί, είτε MAIDEN (Περιστέρι κλειστο 95, Λυκαβητός 98, Γηπεδο Ατρομήτου στο REUNION 99, Αγιος Κοσμας 2000, Μαλακάσα 05) είτε DICKINSON (ROCKWAVE 97, Περιστέρι δεκμεβρης 00 ? στο chemical wedding)....
oh well, wherever , whatever you are

Το 1988 υπηρετούσα στην παραμεθόριο. Είχα κανονίσει με έναν κολλητό να πάμε. Μας είχαν εγκρίνει και τις άδειες, ώσπου... ξαφνικά... προέκυψε ταξιαρχική επιθεώρηση και ανακλήθηκαν οι άδειες. Η συναυλία του 1988 από ότι μου είπαν ήταν η κορυφαία τους στην Ελλάδα.

Το 1988 ήταν στα πράγματα η Αλέξια. Ξέρεις, τα κορίτσια ξενυχτάνε, και δώστου ξεσάλωμα τα κοριτσόπουλα. Υπήρχαν όμως και κάποια που were caught somewhore in time, ντυμένες women in uniform, όπου πάθαιναν αλεπάλληλα deja vu.

Η Lauren Harris είναι η μεγαλύτερη κόρη του Steve Harris, ιδρυτικού μέλους και μπασίστα των IRON MAIDEN και, όπως φαίνεται, η μουσική είναι οικογενειακή υπόθεση για την Οικογένεια Harris.

To ταλέντο της Lauren αναγνώρισε ο γνωστός παραγωγός / καλλιτέχνης Russ Ballard ο οποίος, αφού την είδε να τραγουδάει σε μια αγγλική pub, την πλησίασε μη γνωρίζοντας ποια είναι και της ζήτησε να μπει μαζί του στο στούντιο και να ντύσει με τη φωνή της τη μουσική που είχε γράψει ο ίδιος.

Έτσι και έγινε.

Αλλαγή χώρου για τη συναυλία των Iron Maiden

Σαν αποτέλεσμα της υψηλής ζήτησης εισιτηρίων, και με άξονα τα τεχνικά δεδομένα του show, η συναυλία των Iron Maiden μεταφέρεται στο Κλειστό Γήπεδο Μπάσκετ Ελληνικού, οι τεχνικές προδιαγραφές του οποίου μπορούν να φιλοξενήσουν τα ογκώδη τεχνικά στοιχεία του show και τους fans του συγκροτήματος.



Με στόχο να συναρπάσουν το ελληνικό κοινό, οι Iron Maiden αποφάσισαν να μεταφέρουν στην Αθήνα όλο το μεγαλειώδες σκηνικό και τον τεχνικό εξοπλισμό που θα χρησιμοποιήσουν στο Desert Rock Festival του Dubai, όπου και εμφανίζονται δύο μέρες πριν την προγραμματισμένη συναυλία της 11ης Μαρτίου.

Ένα πραγματικό σκηνικό μάχης με τον Eddie να ξεπροβάλλει από ένα τανκ, προμαχώνες, διαφορετικά επίπεδα δράσης και ...τόνοι από ενισχυτές, φώτα και εξοπλισμό τελευταίας τεχνολογίας δεν μπορεί παρά να σημαίνουν ένα πράγμα: ΑΥΤΟ είναι το show των Iron Maiden που δεν πρέπει να χάσετε με τίποτα!

Και ενώ η προπώληση συνεχίζεται, τα εισιτήρια που έχουν προαγοραστεί για το Κλειστό Γήπεδο Φαλήρου θα ισχύουν κανονικά για την είσοδο των fanς στο Κλειστό Γήπεδο Μπάσκετ Ελληνικού.

Με αφορμή την περιοδεία ενός εκ των κορυφαίων ονομάτων στο χώρο του metal, των Iron Maiden, το Rocking.gr διοργανώνει την Κυριακή 11 Μαρτίου στο Texas club ένα μεγάλο after show party, όπου και θα ακολουθήσει ό,τι έγινε ή θα θέλαμε να γίνει στο live τους. Θα παρελάσουν όλες οι κυκλοφορίες της 28χρονης πορείας τους, πλούσιο οπτικό υλικό και θα προσπαθήσουμε όλοι μαζί αυτή η μαγική βραδιά της 11ης Μαρτίου να μην τελειώσει ποτέ.
