Ok there are some obvious flaws in my logic, but here goes anyway :-
The difference between humans and animals is that animals act purely on instinct, whereas humans are able to BECOME AWARE of their thoughts and instincts, and can therefore choose NOT to act upon those thoughts/instincts. If we are NOT AWARE of how our mind/instinct works, then POTENTIALLY we could become "enslaved" (ie we could lose our individual sovereignty) because we would be unaware of the mind manipulation that is being played on us, and thus we could lose our god given freedom/"free will".
So what I am trying to say is that humans are born with a thing called "freedom/free-will" which means that we can "override" our thoughts/instincts, whereas animals cannot do that.
What do you reckon ?

Re: The difference between humans and animals
I reckon you're quite right, although this thought process, is often not put to good use, or is disfuncrional as it is enslaved, influenced or "tainted", by wrong "doctrines" implanted in our heads since childhood, such as a twisted sense of morality which I call pseudo-ethics (totally Greek word, hope you understand it) allong with various guilt trips for non existant or should I say, manufactured... "sins"... That's what religious creed/dogma does to our thought process... And I mean man made dogma, not God inspired, or pure personal faith to the Almighty... Then there are politics (dumbing down through mainstream media) as well as ideologies (purposely spread around by the same "masters" ). People stick to that kind of nonsense, that also distort their views and objective outlook...
So you see, "autonomous/independant thinking" (or concious "overriding" if you will ) is much easier said than done! It takes a lot of hard and often painful inner processing and work and most of all, it takes a huge initial leap, which will get us out of the damn proverbial box and free us from preconcieved ideas/ways of thinking, that were "implanted" in our brains since birth!
I don't know if I'm making any sense... I hope I am.
